Home Business - It’s all in the Mind.

July 31st, 2008

By far the most important aspect with regard to setting up your own Home Business enterprise is to have the right ‘mindset’.
A home based business is no different to any other business and determination and commitment are essential for it to be successful.
Nothing is FREE you will have to invest time or money into it and if you don’t have much money then it will be necessary to re-organise your available tme to make the best use of it.
Do you really ‘have to’ watch that soap or film or game?
What other things are taking up what you call your freetime and are they that important?
If you are willing to give up some of the things that you are in the habit of doing that are not essential then you will have more time to dedicate to building your business.
After putting in the hard work and getting your business onto a sound footing you will have more freedom than you have ever had before and more time to spend with family and friends who will be proud of your achievments.
There are many benefits to had from being your own boss, not least the ability to take a holiday or vacation when it suits you and not when the factory or office or wherever you are working now closes for the annual break regardless of the weather or personal commitments you have at the time that make it impractical to go far away from home.In a lot of cases depending on the type of enterprise that you are running you can go on vacation without having to worry about leaving it,all you need is a laptop or the use of an Internet cafe to keep in touch.
Yes it all may seem like a dream but if you have the desire and the faith to go along with the dream and the willingness to make some adjustments to your current lifestyle in the early stages then success will naturally follow.
The success stories that you hear so much of these days regarding home based businesses didn’t happen overnight there are no get rich quick schemes that will enable you to retire next week.
In the majority of cases they involved hard work and dedication and a belief that can only come from organised thoughts and actions.
All the great businessmen and women shared the same ’secret’ which is outlined step by step in a free ebook that you can download in a zipped folder.

The Work at Home Adventures of an Old Newbie.

July 22nd, 2008

Hi there,

My name is Ron Hill and I live in Nottingham UK.I have the same initials but I am no Robin Hood although I’m not entirely against the practice of taking from the rich to give to the poor.

I’m what might be accurately described as an old newbie as I am now 70 years of age, hence the title. New to Internet marketing that is but with a wealth of experience gained from the University of Life over many years. As a retired businessman from the world of fashionwear manufacturing I have suffered and survived ‘the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune’ many times over as it is all part of that character building experience associated with the expression “nothing ventured nothing gained”which is the spice of life.

There’s a saying that is often quoted “keep doing what you always do and you will keep getting what you always get”which is great if you are doing ok but if you aren’t then it must be time for a change.

I was under the false illusion that after working so hard for so long retirement would be a relief,a time to stop and smell the roses, move over into the slow lane and cruise along in blissful harmony for the rest of my life, but I was wrong. After six months of doing what I liked where I liked and when I liked I was bored out of my mind and had to make a decision. Do I sit around ‘waiting for God’ or do I get off my backside and find a new challenge to put some meaning and purpose back into my life?

It was not a hard decision and I decided to rise to the ultimate challenge and venture into the WAH (work at home) market on the internet.

With only basic computer skills and little prior knowledge, and aware of those dreadful statistics - 97% of internet businesses fail to make a profit - I boldly entered that jungle of preditors,man-eating beasts, and poisonous reptiles. (not to mention the smiling but treacherous natives who want to tell you where the ‘hidden treasure’ is - with bonus’s - if you are prepared to fill their greasy palms with silver) I knew that if I ventured too deep on my own I would be in dangerous territory so my objective was to find a guide who knew the right paths to follow that would lead me towards my as yet unfound new business venture.

After a few cuts and bruises but without the loss of ‘an arm and a leg’ in the process, guess what …….yes I found the guide and the business and they came together in one very nice package………………………….

If you are interested in following the adventures of a street-wise old fart like me then subscribe to my blog and the saga will be continued.

If not then I will carry on talking to myself but without having to write it down.

There must be hundreds if not thousands of you out there in a similar position to me and it would be good to exchange ideas with you.

Kind regards

Ron

ps.My business is in overdrive at the moment and I’m looking into ways to turbo-charge it.

More about that next time..

pps.I just discovered,by using a free tool that if I used the words, work at home, and home business just one more time, my keywords would be at just about the right density for the search engines.:-)
